Bill Robinson, PT, DPT

| Site Coordinator

Bill Robinson is a physical therapist at OrthoTennessee. After completing his enlistment in the Navy, Bill looked at several career possibilities, choosing physical therapy because it gives him the chance to work with athletes.

"I enjoy the opportunity to help people overcome injuries and get back to everyday life and sports. I take particular satisfaction in educating my patients and helping them understand their injury and to avoid or manage future injuries.'"

During his service in the Navy, Bill was stationed onboard the USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70), based in Pearl Harbor. He received his Bachelor of Rehabilitation Science and Master of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University.

Bill enjoys coaching youth soccer and playing soccer in the Knox Metro Soccer League.  Bill and his wife have a son and a daughter.

An avid golfer, Bill was a physical therapist for the U.S. Senior Amateur Golf Tournament in Florida.

Michelle Hopkins, PTA

Following a four year service in the United States Navy, Michelle earned her associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant, in September 2012 from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. Based on her positive internship with her now supervisor, Bill Robinson, she applied for and was hired at OrthoTennessee. Michelle thrives on helping patients achieve their goals of returning to previous lifestyles while gaining both physical strength and confidence. Specifically she enjoys working on patients with back pain as that is a prominent complaint she hears and something she can take outside of the office walls in educating people on stretching and how to decrease pain.

Michelle appreciates the anxiety that accompanies many therapy patients and she embraces the challenge to first and foremost get them comfortable and then progressing towards their goals. Her own gracefulness, or lack thereof, coupled with her sense of humor are often just the thing patients need to feel at home. Michelle is known for frequent stumbles which are a common source of smiles and giggles for patients. In her spare time, Michellle enjoys, skiing, horseback riding, white water rafting and reading.

Donna Hunter, PTA

Donna Hunter is a physical therapy assistant with OrthoTennessee. She received an associate’s degree in physical therapy assistance from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Donna has been a physical therapy assistant since 2002. She describes her role in the clinic as implementing the plan of care established by the physical therapist. She says she also educates and motivates the patient using exercise to progress the patient towards her/his physical therapy goals.

Donna was motivated to become a physical therapist assistant after her grandfather had a stroke.

“When I was young I was always trying to help him,” Donna says. She says she was also very athletic and believes that the combination of exercise plus health care equals physical therapy assistance.

What Donna says she most enjoys about her work is seeing her patients overcome obstacles and return to doing activities they love.

“I like to know I’ve helped them achieve their goal,” Donna says. She also likes meeting people as part of her work.

In her spare time, she likes dancing, horseback riding, snorkeling, remodeling old houses, boating, activities with friends and family.
